The Beaverdam House
Commanding a view of the valley below, this house is unique in styling and detail. By itself, it's a workof art. Designed by Greg Olson, executed by skilled teamwork. Locally it is known as the "Ecomansion".
The south facing windows provide passive heat, and the scandinavian wood stove to the left provides backup for the coldest days. At the far end of the living room and up the half flight of stairs is the kitchen. Note the full round log posts and beams.
A functional modern kitchen, with Sunfrost refrigerator and gas stove. Countertops are all wood butcherblock and tile. No particlelboard is used in the cabinets or tops.
The covered entry features a carved cherry door. The hinges and latch are hand wrought iron in a nature motif. The porch overhang has a triangular skylight. Posts are natural locust cut from the property.
